How ya'll doing today? Did you have a good weekend? I hope
you had a safe and fun weekend. I did! Church services
were rejuvenating. Sunday School lesson was taken from
Colossians Chapter 3 and Church was taken from I Peter
Chapter 1. I only have the first 14 books uploaded or I

Grocery list...
Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face,
walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a
most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.
She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work,
they had seven children and they needed food. John Longhouse, the grocer
scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once. Visualizing
the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just
as soon as I can.
John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a
charge account at his store.
Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation
between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he
would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said
in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?" Louise replied,
"Yes sir" "O.K." he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever
your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.
Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her
purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it.
She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head
still bowed. The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement
when the scales went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales,
turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe
it.
The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the
other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put
more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.
The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece
of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.
It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said: "Dear Lord, you
know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."
The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in
stunned silence.
Louise thanked him and left the store.
The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said,
"It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer
weighs.

When selling on the internet ask anyone who really knows and
they will tell you that selling a backend product is where
the money really is. You are looking for repeat customers
they will make up most of your income.
Well what if you only sell one product? On the internet you
have plenty of choices. There are thousands of affilitate
programs out there. They are the perfect backend product.
Find one that matches your site and what you are selling for
instance I have an herb ezine I sell targeted advertising
for alternative medicine sources. My perfect backend
product for this site is an herb affiliate program or a
vitamin program, a weight loss program. They are all
perfect backend products for me. Any of these programs will
bring you extra income with no extra work on you part. To
make the most backend income you need to sell affiliate
products that are related but not competitive to your
product or program.
The best way to sell repeat customers is to follow up on
them. However you dont want hard sell them. Your customers
are your most valued asset and you should let them know this.
-Give them free stuff for instance I give them a free ad.
If there ad does not do too well I run it again.
-Give them discounts If they buy an advertising package I give
them discounts. I always try to give my loyal repeat customers
a sale that no one else gets.
-Offer special bonuses you didnt advertise
Heres a sample outline to follow-up on your customers.
Message 1: Right after a purchase I follow-up with a thank
you letting them know how they can get other products.
Message 2: 2 Days later- check up Ask them if everything has
gone well with the product and if they need any help this is
where i ask my advertisers if they got good results from their ad.
If not I run it again for free.
Message 3: 2 Days later- surprise bonus In this email give
them a special bonus that was not mentioned in your sales
letter. I give them at this point a free article about
themselves in my ezine. Not only do I get the pleasure of
knowing who they are and what they sell but other subscribers
get to know them. It gives my customer some good advertising.
Win, Win.
Message 4 5 Days later- testimonial letter Ask them what they
thought of your product, if they give you good comment
ask if you can quote them. I have a lot of nice words come
to me this way. Which gives me valuable testimonials.
Message 5- 2 weeks later I offer them a bonus product maybe
a subscription to my paid ezine at a reduced rate.
I have been allowed to get to know a lot of my loyal
customers really well this way. Building a relationship is
what it is all about. Be authentic it comes through to the
customers.

Hide Your Links From Would Be Thieives!!
How many of you do not change your hide your affiliate
links? Are you getting all of your sales commissions?
Have you ever checked to see if your links are being
changed?
Below is one type of code that will help deter link
thieves.
There are two ways.
One is a simple redirection link.
Then you have your down to earth HTML code:
Open your Notepad or web page program.
Take out all of the "1" this allows the code to be
shown.

Tutorial "How To Get A Gallon Into A Pint Pot"
Have you recently downloaded something to your Desktop,
only to find that there's no Icon appearing on your screen?
Maybe there's so many icons on there, that it can't elbow
its way into view.
Perhaps your desktop is filled to overflowing with icons so
that many of them have disappeared off the screen?
So how do you create more space?
You can either stop downloading stuff or ...
Reduce the size of your Icons, and reduce the space between
them! Like this ...
Right click on an empty space on your Desktop.
Left click 'Properties'.
Left click 'Appearance' tab.
Left click 'Item' drop down box.
Left click 'Icon'.
Reduce the size in the 'Size' box.
Click OK. Done!
If you want even more room you can reduce the amount of
space between them and get more icons per inch for your
money.
Go to the 'Item' drop down box again, and open it.
Left Click on 'Icon Spacing Horizontal'
Reduce the space needed in the 'Size' box
Repeat the procedure with 'Icon Spacing Vertical'.
With trial and error you'll be amazed at the amount of space
you can save this way.
Now you'll have plenty of room on your desktop for your
coffee and sandwiches!

at home as in our work places. You have to go by some type
of schedule, whether you want to or not. Bills have to be
paid, doctor's appointments, even taking the time to go

5. CREATE KEY LIFE AREAS. Did you have a health and fitness goal
last year? Do you have one this year? Your health can be
radically shifted with just 4% of your week's hours. What about
relationship goals, travel goals, business goals, spiritual
goals? If you aren't planning August already, it will zip by. ALL
AREAS OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU WANT TO FLOURISH NEED A PLAN, NOT

"Using Email to Promote a Retail Store"
If you've read this newsletter for any length of time or
reviewed any of my materials, you know you should
be continually testing different marketing ideas.
I'm always looking to gain access to, and learn from,
the results of test marketing by others because then
I get the knowledge without the risk of losing money
on a test that doesn't work. Unfortunately, it's hard
to get this information.
But, I recently came across a report of the email tests
done by a Fortune 1000 retailer. The retailer's goal was
to use email to encourage repeat business from customers
and new business from prospects who had joined their
email list. Since many people think email marketing is
dead, these results are interesting.
Here's what they learned:
How recently the person joined the mailing list had
a definite effect on responsiveness. The measure of
response was to have opened at least one email during
the campaign. People who had joined the list over 1 year
ago had a response rate of 20%. People who had joined
the list less than 1 year ago had a response rate of 85%.
Obviously, this lesson applies to anyone marketing any
product or service via email. We need to focus on getting
sales made while we can get the prospect's attention.
The bottom line for the test was that the group of people
who received 2 emails per month spent 28% more than the
group that did not receive email.
Certain groups of customers received electronic coupons
while others just received email updates and invitations.
The coupons definitely worked. Active customers increased
their buying activity even more. Inactive customers were
reactivated.
The company had a greater return on investment (ROI) on
the coupon recipients than those who did not receive
coupons.
Of course, any time you can increase your business by 28%,
you can usually bet you've got a successful campaign.

Algae in the Pond

I tried to figure out some way to be cute about green algae and Doug Green but no
matter what I did, it didn't sound right. I mean, who likes all that green goop in
the ponds and what garden writer in his right mind would like to be compared to it?
So, ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, here's the word on pond algae in a
brief and factual form.
We're faced with three forms of algae in the ponds.
FLOATING
How to identify it = turns water green
Causes:
1)Too many fish or too much food
a) stop feeding so much.
b) get rid of some fish
That seemed simple didn't it? :-)
A pond will support 1 inch of fish per square foot of pond surface. e.g. 4X8 foot
pond is 32 square feet, therefore you get 32 inches of fish. This is 8 four inch
goldfish or 32 one inch goldfish. Big goldfish doing what big goldfish do - you
always end up with more fish than your pond can tolerate. I note that I don't feed
my fish at all - they get what lands on the pond or what algae they can scrape off.
Great colours in the fish and not too many new babies.
2) Not enough oxygenating plants
One bundle of oxygenators per 2 or 3 square feet of open exposed space not covered
by plant or lily leaves. You should cover 65-70% of your pond surface with plant
leaves. Divide uncovered square footage by 2. Buy that number of oxygenator
bundles.
3) Too much waste on bottom.
Well, the solution to this seems pretty obvious, even to a guy.
4) Chemical fertilizers in ponds
Why anyone would use a lot of chemical fertilizer in ponds is beyond me anyway.
If you use pond tabs, bury the darn things a few inches down in the mud of your
plant tubs. Better still, do as I now do and pack damp manure or compost into the
bottom 2-3 inches of your plant pot, then put in the heavy clay soil for your
lily, then put in the lily. You won't believe the root growth this will produce.
Did someone say "Huge Flowers"?
5) Excessive movement of water.
I know you like moving water and I know the nice salesman said it was ok
to have moving water in your lily pond BUT the real truth is that lilies
HATE moving water and Niagara Falls is not a good comparison for the water
movement in your pond. Slow it down or lose the plants to the green goop.
FILAMENTOUS
How to identify it - long Angel hair.
Scoop out with stick by twisting and twirling stick in water. Usually too much
organic matter in the water and its a common problem, what with all the plants
dying and decomposing and fish mucking about and all. Luckily twirling with a
stick gets most of it without hassle. Gives you a reason to muck about with
the pond on a hot summer day.
MOSS
How to identify: its the slippery stuff on sidewalls and rocks.
LEAVE IT ALONE. Its a good guy. Provides 50% of dissolved oxygen in water.
That is the fast and dirty manual on the three forms of algae in the pond.
Its pretty basic pond care actually. All water turns green initially in the
spring or on first filling, but if you balance your pond ecology with enough
oxygenators and surface coverage, it will all turn nice and clear within a
week or so. (You should see all my greenhouse ponds when they start to turn
green all at once!

RECIPE - Hamburger Tater Tot Casserole
1 pound lean ground beef (some folks brown/drain first)
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix or 1 onion, chopped,
Enough frozen Tater Tots to cover the 8-inch pan
1 can cream soup of choice (I like cream of mushroom or celery)
1/2 soup can milk or water
1 pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350F. Put ground beef in bottom of pan. Top with onion
soup mix or chopped onion. Put as many tater Tots (still frozen) as you can
get atop the onion. Mix the soup and the milk or water and spread atop the
Tater Tots. Top with cheese. Bake, covered with foil, 45 minutes at 350F.
Uncover and bake the last 15 minutes to brown cheese.

There is no single formula for attaining a balanced life. It is a personal decision how one combines their career, spouse/significant other, children, friends and self into an integrated whole. The key is to develop creative solutions as you approach the challenges of balancing the responsibilities and joys of your multiple roles. Some of the same skills and strategies you use at work such as planning, organizing, communicating, setting limits and delegating can be used effectively on the home-front for achieving a satisfying, fulfilling well-balanced life both personally and professionally.
1. BUILD A SUPPORT NETWORK
Ask for help and allow yourself to be helped and contributed to. Get your children involved--work together as a team. Recruit friends, family, neighbors, bosses, work colleagues, etc. and ask for their support. Create back-up and emergency plans; always have a contingency.
2. LET GO OF GUILT
Guilt is one of the greatest wastes of emotional energy. It causes you to become immobilized in the present because you are dwelling on the past. Guilt can be very debilitating. By introducing logic to help counter-balance the guilt you can stay better on course.
3. ESTABLISH LIMITS AND BOUNDARIES
Boundaries are an imaginary line of protection that you draw around yourself. They are about protecting you from other people’ actions. Determine for yourself what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior from other people. Boundaries and limits define how you take charge of your time and space and get in touch with your feelings. They express the extent of your responsibilities and power and show others what you are willing to do or accept. Without limits it is difficult to say "no".
4. DETERMINE YOUR OWN STANDARDS
Get rid of the notion of being a perfectionist. Wean yourself off it by making compromises--figure out where the best places to make the compromises are without short-changing yourself, your spouse, your children, your boss, etc. Live by your own standards rather than someone else’s. Standards are about YOU and refer to the behavior and actions you are willing to hold yourself to.
5. CREATE TIME FOR YOURSELF
Being a good parent, partner and professional means being good to yourself first. Use your mind to make some affirmations for yourself. Find ways to relax, relieve tension and minimize stress. Taking some time off for yourself will not only benefit you, but it will benefit your family tremendously!
6. GET ORGANIZED.
Set priorities, work smarter not harder, delegate (and really let go!). Create lists and save them for re-use. Keep a main calendar centrally located to post everyone’s activities.
7. BE FLEXIBLE
Forgive yourself when things do not get done. Understand that with children things change at a moment’s notice. Be ready and willing to assume responsibility for any of the tasks that need to get done at any time. Never get too comfortable, because as soon as you seem to get things under control, they change! Also, realize that in order to achieve success many women have had to give up their original goals and substitute new ones with different but equal challenges. Negotiate for what you need.
8. ENJOY QUALITY FAMILY TIME
Spend quality/focused time with your family. Give them your full attention. Develop rituals you can all look forward to. Create relationships with your spouse and children that are not incidental but rather instrumental to your success.
9. FIND RELIABLE CHILD CARE
Leave your kids in capable hands. Find someone you feel comfortable and confident in. If you are feeling ambivalent about working or about leaving your child, etc. do not show it--your child (at any age) will pick right up on it. Feel proud when you have found someone who fits into your needs. Get involved with your child’s care providers by communicating frequently and observing interactions between caregiver and your child.
10. ACHIEVE AN INTEGRATED LIFE
Keep things in perspective. Create harmony in your life--a mixture of work, family and friends. Remember, there is no single formula for balance. It is a personal decision how one combines spouse, children and career.

3. Description of Plant(s) and Culture
Blackberry is a trailing perennial plant; the slender branches
feature sharp, recurved prickles. The leaves are finely hairy or
almost glabrous and pinnate with 3-5 leaflets. The leaflets are
ovate and doubly serrate. The upper leaves are sometimes simple
and palmately lobed. The white, five-petaled flowers appear from
June to September. The fruit is an aggregate of black drupelets
collectively called the blackberry.
4. Where Found
Grows in dry or sandy soil, along woodland edges, in hedge rows,
along roadsides, and on disturbed ground in the northeastern and
middle states of the United States. and is cultivated elsewhere.
West into Minnesota and south to Tennessee.
5.Medicinal Properties
Astringent (leaves and roots), hemostatic, nutritive, refrigerant, tonic

Isocitric, and malic acids; sugars, pectin, monoglycoside of cyanidin,
tannin (high in root bark and leaves), iron, carbohydrates, sodium,
magnesium, and vitamin A and C.
7. Uses
Blackberry leaves and roots are a long-standing home remedy for
cholera, anemia, regulates menses, diarrhea and dysentery. Prolonged
use of the tea is also beneficial for enteritis, chronic appendicitis,
stomach upset, and leukorrhea. It is said to have expectorant properties
as well. A tea made from the dried root can be used for dropsy. The
chewing of the leaves for bleeding gums goes back to the time of Christ.
The fruit and juice are taken for anemia. A standard infusion is made,
which can also be applied externally as a lotion, reported to cure
psoriasis and scaly conditions of the skin.
Blackberries also make wine, brandy; and flavor liqueurs and cordials.
8. Formulas or Dosages
Infusion: use 1 tsp. dried leaves to 1/2 cup water.
Take 1/2 to 1 cup a day.
Decoction: use 1 tsp. root or leaves to 1 cup water.
Take 1 to 2 cups a day.
Tincture of root: take 15-40 drops in water, as needed.

Your body totally depends on what you feed it. One of the systems that
depends on this process is your immune system. It is your GREATEST ALLY in
defending your health and wellness.
When you provide your body with nutrients at optimal levels, the body is
able to function at a high level.
No two people require the same amount of energy though they might be the
same size, sex, and age. Instead there is a wide range of energy "intakes"
that can be considered adequate.
If you have kept abreast of environmental information in the last few years,

Our air and water pollution has increased.
The use of pesticides and antibiotics has increased.
Fast-paced lifestyles require prepared (over-processed foods) that have
