If you're working on a slow system and notice a significant speed degradation while visiting Java enabled web pages, you can disable Java support to find out if you could gain some speed. Speed degradation occur on slow systems because some Java enabled pages take longer to load, specially, during your first visit. Also certain graphics and math intensive Java applets take a bigger slice of the CPU time, leaving less processing time for your other applications while the applet is in action. TIP: If you're adding Java applets to your pages, it's a good idea to view your pages with Java disabled, so you can get an idea what users with non-Java-enabled browsers would see. WARNING: Although temporally disabling Java applets could gain some speed under certain conditions, please note that you may also loose some of the web page functionality. Some web pages have backup functions that would fill-in for Java, but most don't. The Purpose Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there. To serve some sort of purpose, to teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you might want to become. You never know who these people may be, possibly your roommate neighbor, professor, long lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger you know at the moment they will affect your life in some profound way. Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first but in reflection you find that without overcoming these obstacles you would have never realized your potential, your strength, your willpower, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet who affect your life and the success and downfalls you experience help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things that you would have never seen or felt without them. Make everyday count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either. Learn How To Market By Stalking! Copyright 2003 Jason Anderson In my opinion, one of the best ways to learn marketing is by "stalking" the experts. Now let me be very quick to say here that I don't mean physically following them around, finding out where they live, etc! And while I would love to claim credit for the term, I first heard Joel Christopher use the phrase. What I mean is, learn how to market and run your business by watching how someone who is already successful is doing it. It is a given that the best way to learn how to do something is by learning directly from an expert. It significantly cuts down on the time and expense it takes to master the topic, and stops you from going off on the wrong track. Online there are many opportunities for learning from others. There are newsletters and sites that offer interviews with people who are already successful. There are teleseminars where you can listen to experts talking over the phone or the web. You can pay for a consultation, or perhaps be lucky enough to convince an expert to be your mentor. Finally, of course, you can buy their ebooks. But, it is almost a given that the experts aren't revealing *all* of their secrets. They may not even be holding back intentionally - it is possible they have forgotten to mention a small but crucial thing that they do, which makes all the difference in their business. But if you watch how they work, you can learn a lot. How do they structure their web site and/or sales letter? How do they entice you to sign up to their lists? If they run a newsletter, how do they put it together? How do they get their personality across? How do they promote new products? Are they sending out special mailings (and if so, how often), or doing it inside their newsletter? Do they offer ecourses, and if so how are they structured? Do they refer to other courses, products, etc that they offer? What about their follow-up process? Admittedly this means that you have to buy their product, but this may not be a bad thing (you can see how they put together their order process - and hopefully whatever you are buying is good too!). How do they follow up with you? When and how do they offer new products to you, or freebies, or additional information? Where do they advertise? How do they advertise? If they run an affiliate program, how do they attract affiliates? What additional information do they provide their affiliates to sell their products (and how can you do something similar to sell your own products). Now it won't be possible to find out *everything* your chosen expert does. And you can't just copy what you learn exactly - you will need to modify it to suit your situation. But you should be able to get a good idea of how they work. Sock It To Me Cake
Ingredients: 1 - (19.25 oz) box butter-recipe cake mix 1/2 cup of sugar 1 cup sour cream 3/4 cup oil 4 - large eggs Now for the "Sock It" part: 3 T brown sugar 1 T cinnamon 1/2 cup chopped pecan or walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a Bundt pan and set aside. Combine cake mix and sugar. Add oil and sour cream. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Pour half of batter into prepared pan. Top with brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts.( You may leave out this part.) Add remaining batter. Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. |

Attracting Birds and How to Feed Them
Some bird feeder have a certain function for certain birds. For example, some bird feeders have different size holes for the seed to come out. Thistle is very small compared to sunflower seeds. Make sure that you do your homework before your purchase or build a feeder. Here is an excellent feeding chart that will help you figure out what type of food your feathered friends need. Click on Feeding Chart. The photos below will give you an idea of the many different shape bird feeders come in. Also the heated bird bath is a great idea for people who live in cold climates in the winter. Birds need water, and having one in your yard is a great way to attract birds in the winter. The major virtue of this feeder is its great attractiveness to birds. Well constructed, durable, easy to fill and clean, easy to hang or pole-mount, and with a lifetime warranty. 16 1/2" tall, 1.6 pounds. This plastic bird bath is thermostatically controlled and comes complete with a 2.5 ft. metal stand. Three stakes are provided to securely attach to the ground. The heating element and all electrical parts may be snapped into place for winter use. The bath will remain ice-free in below zero conditions. 12" diameter, 4 pounds. Feeding birds can be a very simple affair. Just scattering bread crusts on the snow or seed on a bench or table will attract some birds. But if bird feeding is to be a long-term interest some additional steps should be taken to avoid problems that may occur. The food must be protected from rain and snow or from unwanted guests such as squirrels. The birds should not be made vulnerable to predation or other hazards by careless placement of the bird feeder. It is also important to continue feeding through bad weather so that any birds that may have become dependent on the food supply will be able to eat when they need to. This is most important just after winter storms. (Of course, if your neighbors are also putting out bird food, the birds are less dependent on any one feeder). A hopper-type feeder that can hold food for several days can help ensure a continuous supply. Many good feeders can be made at home. A plastic bleach bottle can be cut to provide a large opening in one side and then hung from a branch by its handle. Half a coconut, pinecones, or a piece of bark can be used to hold a suet mixture. Suet can be hung from a tree in a plastic mesh onion bag. A Christmas string of popcorn and cranberries draped on a tree is a festive offering for the birds. Just be sure that feeders have no exposed metal parts that may stick to a bird's face in cold weather. Commercially built feeders can also be an excellent value. |

| How To Make Hand Sanitizer Gel Make your own hand sanitizer gel with anti-bacterial essential oils. Difficulty: Easy Time Required: 15 min. Here's How: Place 1 cup aloe vera gel in a glass bowl or bottle. Add alcohol and glycerine. Stir until well mixed Add essential oils. Shake or stir to mix. Store in a colored glass plain or pump bottle. Tips: More alcohol speeds evaporation. Tea tree oil is recommended due to it's high anti-bacterial properties, however, most essential oils have some anti-bacterial properties so feel free to experiment with others such as Ravensara aromatica, clove, lavander and lemon oils. The efficacy of sanitizer gels is under dispute, they are not totally effective against all bacteria but every little bit helps and if you can get your kids to use it regularly, it's a good thing.
