Salvation: The Divine Imperative

Salvation: The Divine Imperative
By Saundra L. Washington

Of the many individuals who were touched through the ministry of Paul while on his second missionary journey, three are specifically mentioned. His first convert was Lydia, a businesswoman; the second was a young lady who had been used and manipulated by her masters so that they could profit financially. But, when she was saved, her masters were offended because their bank account had closed and so they had Paul and Silas taken before the magistrates on false allegations and they were subsequently, beaten and thrown into prison.

Paul and Silas were escorted to the lowered dungeon, uncomfortable, in chains, mistreated, hurting and still probably bleeding from the beatings. One would expect them to be belligerent, angry, complaining but instead we find them singing and rejoicing. At midnight when it would seem they would have been trying to rest and soothe themselves, they prayed and sang praises to God.

Now the prison guard was in charge and it is interesting that Scripture omits any reference to his telling the prisoners to cease and desist with their noisy singing and praying. In fact, he goes to them with a question of utter urgency. Instead of telling them what to do, he was asking them what to do.

In this paradoxical turn of events, an important question was raised. After hearing about Paul and Silas' ministry and now hearing them rejoicing in their suffering in the midnight hour, he began to realize that they apparently had something that he did not. This devoted servant of the Roman government sensed the need for a new allegiance. He turns to Paul and Silas and asked that all important question that all seekers of truth must ask: What must I do to be saved?

The jailer wanted to know, What must I do to be saved? He was not playing with them or mocking them or trying to "get their goat." Neither was he asking this question for purposes of conversation to keep from being bored. Rather, he asked this question out of a sincere desire to know how to receive salvation. We understand this because the word "must" communicates a sense of urgency. It implies something that needs to be addressed and cannot be avoided. It is an a divine imperative; the same imperative that sent Jesus to the cross.

Calvary to Christ was not an if, or a maybe, but a must. Consult your Bibles and observe how frequently Jesus used the word, must.

From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Matthew 16:21

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6

But the Scriptures must be fulfilled." Mark 14:49.

Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?" Luke 2:49.

"I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent." Luke 4:43.

"Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house." Luke 19:5.

For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: Luke 22:37.

…All things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." Luke 24:44.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, John 3:14.

I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. John 9:4.

Jesus repeatedly said "I MUST" and this prison guard wanted to know what must I do to be saved. It was a pressing matter, an issue of ultimate concern. He was not interested in what others needed to know. It was his own soul that concerned him right now. Let others do as they please, but I need to know what it is I must do; what course must I take, what tasks must I complete.

This jailer understood that something needed to be done and that it needed to be done by him. The question of salvation is a personal one. There is no salvation by proxy. The jailer was ready and willing and wanted to know what he had to do. Paul gives him the simple gospel: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. That is it! No long drawn our procedures; no written applications or exams, no probationary periods.

The question of our salvation is one that we cannot escape. Sooner or later, somehow, some time, in some way, the question will rise up before you – What must I do to be saved? And to experience salvation, we have to investigate our own life under the probing spotlight of this eternal question.

Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' John 3:7

There is no other way of salvation than through Christ Jesus our Lord and no other way of being saved but by believing in Him. And the moment you take that step, whether you are 6 or 106; whether you can comprehend the theology of the Trinity or can even spell it, whether you are in a great cathedral or your bedroom, the moment you believe and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, you are welcomed into His Christian fold.

First 7 Steps To Branding Your Business On The Internet

First 7 Steps To Branding Your Business On The Internet
By Jeneth Blackert

Most small business owners realize the importance to branding their company, but they lack the skill to branding themselves on the internet. Most small business owners are too confused with all the fancy tools and words, like blogs, podcasts, rss, opt-in and auto responder. Others just don't think the internet is important. To prevent overwhelm, I have included a complete list of steps to take your brand online.

1. Know your brand and create a brand statement. I find that most of my clients know their niche, but they don't know their brand. Here are a couple of questions that will help you get clear on your brand. Why is your company in business? What set you apart from the competition? If you are the company owner, look inside yourself and state your clearest vision for your company. Now write your brand statement down in one sentence.

2. Create a hook impression. Find words that can easily explain what your company does. Don't go into your "story". Just state enough information to get your buyer's mouth watering and take the bait.

3. Generate "schools of fish" with website involvement. Build a subscriber base or "schools of fish caught by your hook". Get your fish or subscribers involved in your business by creating online questionnaires, polls and forums.

4. Build your keywords. Go back to your brand statement and decide on fifteen keywords that are directly associated with your brand. Use these keywords in your web copy, in you're ad campaigns and in your literature when available.

5. Write copy that identifies your brand. When you write copy for your website, include your brand's warm friendly elements. The internet is a very cold and impersonal place, write copy as if you are writing to one of your friends. Everyone has their own voice, so why not let your brand have its own voice.

6. Create a tagline and marketing statement. Now you are ready to create a complete user experience. Here are a few questions to help you along with this process. How is my brand being represented in my all my client interactions? If you have print literature, are you representing your business the same as you are online? Does your copy talk to the same target audience in all areas of your business?

7. Be available for your fish. Let your subscribers be able to reach you and swim with you. But most importantly when they do, be sure, you are representing your brand as clearly as possible.

Remember Rome wasn't built overnight. These steps will take time. Continue to ask yourself, "Will this ________ represent my brand?" If you stay in tune with what you are trying to accomplish you can't go wrong.

-- Good luck and happy branding!

How To Skyrocket Your Adsense Revenue

How To Skyrocket Your Adsense Revenue
By Ba Kiwanuka

Adsense is an advertising model created by Google which utilizes pay-per-click and pay-per-impression advertising which is beneficial to both advertisers and webmasters alike. For the advertiser Adsense is a very efficient way to get access to high volume targeted traffic by having their ads displayed on topically relevant sites. For the webmaster Adsense can be an extremely lucrative alternative-income source, or as many Adsense gurus have discovered, Google Adsense can well be your primary super-income source.

It's free to join Adsense and you'd be well advised to read Google's Adsense rules and policies. Google supplies excellent resources on The Dos and The Don'ts of Adsense as well as very comprehensive tutorials on how to set up and use Adsense. So for that reason this article will not go into the basics of Adsense but rather will give you tips on how to become an Adsense Expert and join the growing number of Adsense Gurus who are making mind-boggling amounts from Adsense!

Dress Your Ads For Success

1. Don't leave your ads looking like...well ads! Many Adsense users simply follow Google's default format settings to setup their ads. Big Mistake! If your ad looks like an ad people are generally going to ignore it. As for those banners... please! Nearly everybody online hates banners and avoids them like the plague. So don't make the mistake of thinking that visitors to your website will behave any differently to those Adsense banner ads you may have set up. Simply put...do without the Adsense banners if you want to cash in.

2. Optimal Placement of Your Ads. In the real world it's said that location...location...location is everything. Same thing goes for the web, at least as far as Adsense is concerned. If your ads are tucked away where no one can see them basically you aren't going to get any clicks. Think about it--when people go to a website the first thing they do is absorb as much information before ever scrolling. That part of the page they see without scrolling is called above the fold. That is where you want to put your ads. Remember easier seen means more clicks...which means more ka-ching!

More Is Less. The number of ads you've got above the fold will influence your visitors clicking habits. Google puts the top-paying ads topmost with the lower paying ones at the bottom. If you have a stack of ads all located above the fold those cheaper ads might steal attention away from the more profitable ones. So keep this in mind...more is not necessarily better as far as your Adsense revenue is concerned.

3. Wave Goodbye To That Border. So you've spent a lot of time putting up intelligent and useful content on a beautifully designed site...shame that you've got to tarnish such wondrous aesthetics with Adsense. But guess what...you don't have to! You can easily blend your ads in to compliment the overall layout of your site. First thing--Get rid of that border delineating your ads. Next, make your Adsense text the same colour as that of the rest of your site. People are more likely to click on it thinking it's part of that useful content on your site.

4. Text Ads versus Image Ads. And the winner by unanimous decision is (drum roll)...Text Ads! With the right formatting your text ads will blend in with your content. Text ads are also more flexible with respect to tweaking and positioning. Another thing about text ads, is that you can squeeze more of them in the space taken up by an image ad (banner). Text ads don't appear like clutter whereas banners do!

5. Keywords. The content on your web pages determines the Adsense ads that appear there. If your site does not have a specific theme then Google will gladly supply you with non-profit general service ads. So as you can see Content is Still King! Even so you can quite easily (and legitimately) influence the Adsense ads supplied to your site by strategically placing keywords in specific locations on your site without diluting your site's copy (text tailored towards a specific goal and written for your visitors).

These are just a few of the simple optimizer tweaks that Adsense Experts utilize to cash in big from Google Adsense. Remember that people generally need to be exposed to something at least seven times before they're comfortable enough to purchase it. So if you're an affiliate marketer or any kind of online seller (or for that matter as long as you have a site) why not put up Adsense on your site and make some easy revenue while your visitors familiarize themselves with what your site has to offer.

Finally if you really want to become an Adsense Guru who rakes in five-figure amounts every month, you need to understand what it takes to correctly design a site from scratch with the sole purpose of cashing in big from Adsense!

How To Profit From The Search Engine's Higher Conversion Rate With Article Marketing

How To Profit From The Search Engine's Higher Conversion Rate With Article Marketing
By Andreas Obermueller

A lately released report at WebSideStory reveals that search engines have a considerably higher conversion rate than all other sources. Organical and paid listings on all search engines in sum have been compared with other internet links. In this investigation to the "internet links" belong banners, affiliate links, price comparison search engines and other forwarding links.

According to the study, search engines achieve an average conversion rate of 2,3 %. "Internet links" come on the other hand only on 0,69 %. This result represents clearly why search engine marketing is so popular with distribution parties responsible.

The conversion rate of the search machines gets only surpassed by direct side calls including bookmarks with 4,23 %. The greatest conversion effect is achieved by that from branding effects and customer tie. Visitors that have stored the website in their bookmarks or called the website directly accordingly are guarantors for the highest conversions, therefore the best proportion between number of visitors and made purchases.

Which benefits can one get from this study now?

- One can use his advertising-methods considerably more effectively and receives at the same time rapidly a significant sales increase. Conditional through the advertising-billing economized on for in-effective advertising-methods also a profit increase is to be reckoned on.

- Through the abolition of in-effective advertising-methods the distribution party responsible gets more time to concentrate on the additional advertising-methods like article distribution. Next to the "standard" SEO advertising-methods like paid campaigns in Google Adwords, Yahoo Publisher Network or other PPC's, article distribution is also very effective.

Article marketing requires indeed an a little longer preparation time (research, writing, keyword optimization, proof-reading, correcting, distribution, etc.) but it is profitable in any case, however, then it is not only free, but it offers among other things the advantage, that your website will be noticed within a short of time, you obtain backlinks automatically, your reputation will be improved, and your free and targeted traffic will increase.

If you need a proof that article marketing works, just do a little search on Google for "Ewen Chia". You will get more than 105.000 results. He is not only a well respected offline marketing consultant (in co-operation with his partner Jo Han Mok), but he is also known as the number #1 in affiliate marketing world wide. Ewen does not pay much attention to on-page SEO, but focuses more on article marketing. If you want to learn how he did and how you can do it too, you can get immediately access to his "Secret Affiliate Weapon". This might be a good investment for you, as he is over-delivering each and every time. If you stay on his list, you will get additional information and free gifts that you will not find anywhere else. With his advice the "how-to start-up nightmare" for anyone, who wants to make money on the internet (and not only with affiliate marketing) will come to an end. He is someone who cares about his members and subscribers and I recommend him from the bottom of my heart.

My own first experience with article distribution was that distributing one article alone increased my main sites PR rank from 0 to 2 within 6 weeks online, and I nearly forgot to mention: a high ranking on many search engines for one of our main keywords. So this is worth all the initial time spent in joining all the article directories by signing in, activating your account, adding a pen-name and sending in your first article.

For this procedure I recommend using an Article Submitter. You just fill in your name, address, phone number, etc. one time while you set up the software and then it automatically fills in your details each and every time when you apply for your author-account at a new directory. You only have to select the correct country manually, but that's all you have to do. The rest is just "click". Then you have to look for the article-directory's confirmation e-mail. After confirmation you are able to log in to your new account, add a pen-name and you are done. Now you are ready to send in your articles.

With an Article Submitter all you have to do is inserting your articles once and then the rest is just "clicking" and selecting the correct category. That's it. Although your "first run" may take some extra time, your "second run" will go much faster. It now depends on your own speed in "clicking" and selecting the according category but submitting to one directory should now be done within one minute. If you are faster and reach 2 per minute -> fine! :-)

As you see, article distribution is not too complicated and is very inexpensive. I only recommend investing in an Article Submitter. If you do not fear the initial work then you will profit from article distribution already after a view days, because the article directories are getting spidered by the search engines very often and they may index YOUR new article maybe already within 1-3 days!

So all you have to do is to start writing your first article. If you say now: "I can't write" than I am sure that you are thinking the wrong way. Change your attitude. I am sure YOU CAN WRITE! Do not expect to write a "perfect" article for the first time. It may take some time and some articles until you find your own stile and everything is getting smoother and smoother. So I recommend: START WRITING! That's all! Give yourself a chance and you will see that it is easier to write than you have been thinking of.

If you need assistance in writing, search for advice in the search engines. There are many good articles out there that can help you. So just START WRITING and the rest will follow! Tell the world what you have to say and people will listen. Be natural. Take it easy. Nobody has to write or be perfect. Even a machine is not perfect, so there is no need for real perfection. Improve your stile, improve your writing, and finally improve your habits. That's all I recommend. START WRITING NOW. It's easier than you believe!

Good luck and much fun with article writing and article distribution. You will profit widely from it.

Point of Failure

Point of Failure
By Edward Goldwin

This is a good tool I suggest you try out. It only takes a few minutes.

http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/retirementplanner/retirementplanner.jsp

You answer a few questions and it will give you an overview of your cash flow from now through retirement. It will also tell you how much you need to have saved up and what type of return you need on your current savings to achieve that.

It is suggested you need 80% of your income when you retire. I ran some basic numbers through for myself and this is what I found:

  • To live at 80% of my current lifestyle I will need a nest egg of almost $2 Million
  • My current savings plan will allow me to live for 1 year of retirement
  • I would need a return of 15% my entire life for my current savings to be effective
  • A reasonable rate of return would require me to save an additional 30% of my pay check

This assumes that:

  • Social Security will be available when I retire
  • I get a 3% raise every year. (My past 5 years average out to less than 1%)

And all of this depends on my job which brings up another issue.

Life insurance covers your family if something were to happen to you. But what are you going to do if you loose your job? Your job is a single point of failure in your finances. You could work additional jobs but there is only so much one person can do. Perhaps we should take a page from Robert Kiyosaki and Robert Allen. Start creating multiple streams of passive residual income.

Passive residual income occurs over and over from work done one time and it does not continue to need much (if any) of your own personal involvement. Passive income comes from areas like rental property, network marketing, royalties, ... The idea is to build multiple assets that create streams of income so that when one asset fails your whole financial structure doesn't collapse.

This concept has an additional impact besides stabilizing your income. You now become one of you assets. One that is known to fail when you retire. Now instead of just saving for retirement, retirement is a preplanned failure of an asset - the slack of which will be taken up by your other assets. Saving for retirement almost becomes a completely foreign idea now.

By Ololade Franklin

Mother's Day is almost here. You can use herbs to make simple gifts that are appropriate for giving for Mother's Day or any time of the year. Here are some ideas.

Simple Lavender Laundry Sachet Gift. This gift is great for anyone who likes sweetly scented laundry. To make it fill a fabric bag with dried lavender buds. Seal the bag so the lavender can't come out. This bag can be used in the dryer in place of laundry dryer sheets to add a delicate lavender scent to clothes. Make several and put them into a gift basket to give to the recipient. As an added touch, include some natural laundry soap with your gift basket.

Simple Rose Potpourri Gift. Everyone loves roses. You can make a simple gift using dried rose buds. Drizzle rose fragrance oil onto dried rose buds. Stir well to distribute the fragrance. Store in an airtight container.

Peppermint and Chamomile Tea Gift Basket. Do you know someone who likes to drink tea? This gift is one they will appreciate. Peppermint tea aids in digestion, and chamomile tea is relaxing. To make this gift put dried peppermint leaves (food grade) into a new glass jar, and put dried chamomile flowers (food grade) into another jar. Label each one. Put both jars into a gift basket and include a mug, a tea strainer, and a jar of honey or some stevia (Stevia is a natural herb that is used by many people as a sweetener).

A Low Maintenance Landscape Can Save You Money

A Low Maintenance Landscape Can Save You Money
By Martin Lukac

Have you ever thought of the cost you are putting into your yards in comparison with what you are getting out of them? Spring is the time we get out and start our landscaping projects. Are you making your dollar work the for you when it comes to landscaping.

Advise is mixed as to whether or not curb appeal affects the price of a home much. The prevalent feeling is that low-maintenance, yet clean, landscaping is always a good choice. Chances are that if you have invested a lot into your landscaping, the new owners won't be interested in it, so it won't pay you back.

My husband likes to tease me that we'll just get rid of the grass in our front yard and save the gas money. This is actually a consideration in many parts of the country. For example, in Las Vegas, most city yards aren't covered with grass. It simply isn't water efficient. When looking at your yard, consider how much you will have to water it and how often you will have to mow it.

If you are starting from scratch, look for slow growing grasses that are designed for your area. These grasses can cut your mowing time and may not need extra watering during the summer months.

When it comes to the details, there are efficient ways to add color and design to your yard. Unless you love to work in the garden, annuals aren't for you. If you have to have that punch of color, don't go overboard. Just plant a few annuals (it's cheaper if you do it from seed) in a high traffic area, such as by your front door.

Perennials are the popular, low maintenance choice for most people. Look for plants that are native to your area. There are some plants out there that need little water and are very disease resistant. If you choose well, you should be able to plant and forget. Simply follow the directions for spacing, and you should have to do anything to your perennials for several years.

You can even cut out weeding by using a landscaping carpet in your beds. Or for the frugal gardener, use those newspapers. Simply layer the newspapers around your plants and cover with mulch. No weeds and the newspaper breaks down into the dirt.

Shrubs are a great way to add beauty to your garden without costing you a lot of time or money. Flowering shrubs can bring beauty to your garden without the yearly cost of annuals. Again, be sure you select plants well-suited to your area and the growing conditions around your home. Yes, occasionally you will need to prune your shrubs. But with shrubs and perennials, you watering, weeding and maintenance is reduced.

Don't forget to consider your family in your landscaping decisions. I'm not planting flowers in our new homes yard, because I have a feeling that they will be too tempting to our young daughter. Some well placed, and pretty, herbs and vegetables near the front door will add some blooms and are perfectly safe for my children. Plus, we'll be able to eat them. Double-duty is always frugal.

Dog Aggression: Children and Their Pets

Dog Aggression: Children and Their Pets
By Steve Allison

It's terrifying how common tales are of dogs savaging young children. You might think that it's just Pit Bulls or certain breeds that do this kind of thing but it's common across all breeds. Children have the uncanny ability to make dogs angry without intending.

Most families will luckily never have to deal with anything remotely as traumatic but if you own a dog and have children; or have children visiting often - then you too must take some responsibility for their actions and behavior.

You want to prepare your children by teaching them a few simple rules about playing with the dog.

The first step to understand the aggression. So, what causes dogs to become aggressive? There are a few different kinds of aggression that dogs experience. If they are scared they become aggressive, if something threatens their territory or family and as an act of dominance assertion.

An aggressive dog's ears will pin back; their tail might stand up and they will growl. The growl is a warning.

What's the best way to deal with an aggressive dog?

If you have the luxury of realizing before something happens that the dog is upset and about to hurt your child or you there are some things you can do:

- It's most important to try to keep as calm as possible; the dog will sense your fear - Speak in a soft voice - remove the disturbance if possible.

What can you do to prevent an aggressive dog?

- Teach your children that the dogs have feeling too and are to be treated with care. This means no rough playing with the dog. Some breeds of dog become agitated and roughhousing can greatly upset them. Enough to bite your child!

- If your children are very small you will need to take care to supervise them at all times. You cannot leave a toddler with a dog without risking something going wrong. Very young children do not understand how to treat animals yet.

- The importance of having a well trained dog cannot be stated enough. When you get a puppy take them to obedience classes straight away. Even if you don't have children it's important to have a well trained dog. You don't want your beloved pooch to harm someone else's children.

If you have children and are considering buying a dog; there are some considerations that can make it far less likely for an aggressive dog. Choose carefully - some breeds are known to have a low tolerance and others are known to be child friendly.

Dogs have a long standing relationship with humans - dogs love people and visa versa. By following these pointers you should be assured of a happy calm dog that won't harm anyone. A carefully trained dog will give you peace of mind and most importantly - become an important part of your family life.

Steve Allison is a third generation of professional dog breeders along with his brother Gary. It all started with his grandparents in 1970 with the Boston Terriers and has expanded to Maltese, Yorkshire Terriers, Pugs, Shih Tzu's and Pomeranians. He is also actively involved with dog rescue and has a website that showcases the puppies they occasionally has for sale at All My Puppies Online Steve is also the co-author of two consumer guides, Carpet Secrets and Moving Secrets Guide

    Make Money With Your Writing

    Make Money With Your Writing
    By Llewellen Banks

If you can write clearly than you can make money with your writing. Writing has always been an excellent way to make money from home. Traditionally people wrote for magazines and newspapers, but with the advent of the Internet, new opportunities for writers have opened up. There are Web sites, ezines, weblogs, and ebooks all of which can make an enterprising writer money.

    Sell Your Articles Online

If you have confidence in your writing ability then you can write articles on any subject that interests you and sell them to companies online. Studies show that people look for information on the Internet. If you have special skill or knowledge about computers, marketing, cooking, saving money or getting fit, then you can sell your knowledge.

Two places to start are Associated Content and Constant Content.

Associated Content (www.associatedcontent.com) allows you to sign up for free. You then submit your article into the form and within a few days or weeks you can get an offer for your article. You can offer exclusive rights meaning that you give all right to Associated Content or AC as it is sometimes called. You can also give non-exclusive rights to AC. This means that the same article can be sold again and again to different companies, not just to Associated Content. Reselling the same article is one of the best ways to make money as a writer. AC pays you though Paypal which most people find more convenient than waiting for a check to be mailed.

Constant Content (www.constant-content.com) works a little differently. Sign-up is free and you can submit your articles on the Constant Content or CC form. But with CC you only make money if the article is sold to a third-party. Constant Content is more of a middle-man and a place where you can showcase your writing. Constant Content gets 35% of all sales. (Originally it was 50%.) One good thing about CC is that you get to name your price. If you want to sell exclusive rights to your article for $25 or $100 then do it. If you want to sell non-exclusive rights for $12 then that is your choice and every time some buys your article you make $12, minus the commission to CC. One thing to note- CC has a $50 threshold. You will be paid via Paypal only when your account balance reaches $50 or more.

    Calls for Submissions

Both Associated Content and Constant Content have sections on their websites listing articles wanted. Companies in need of stories on particular subjects will have a call for submissions that discusses the topic, the word count and the amount the company will pay. If you are interested simply write the article and submit it as you would any article. If your article is accepted you will be paid for your work.

Associated Content and Constant Content are two ways you can start earning money with your writing. As your confidence and clips (published article) increase, you can move on to more lucrative markets like magazine or newspapers. It is possible to make a full time living as a freelance writer. With writing skill and perseverance you can make money with your writing.

Llewellen Banks is the owner of The Job Haters' Club (http://www.jobhatersclub.com) a resource site for those who want to earn money without a job.

Cake Decorating Ideas for Fantastic Looking Cakes

Cake Decorating Ideas for Fantastic Looking Cakes
    By Cristy Smith

You don't have to be an expert cake decorator in order to make fantastic looking birthday cakes. Here are some cake decorating ideas to help you to make your cakes extra special that do not require exceptional cake decorating skills.

First, determine a theme for your cake. If the cake is for an adult, what are the likes, hobbies or interests of the birthday person? For example, if the person likes to fish, make a fishing theme cake. If the person likes to golf, make a golf theme cake. If they like to play the guitar, make a guitar cake.

You could also make the cake theme match their profession as well. For example, for a mail carrier make a mail theme cake or for a carpenter, make a carpenter theme cake.

If you are making a cake for a child, have it match the theme of the party or the child's favorite character, interest or even sport.

You get the idea, just try to make the cake extra special for the birthday person by making it match their hobbies or interests.

A really easy cake decorating idea for making these theme cakes is to purchase cake toppers that match your theme to place on top of your cake. These come in many different varieties. However, if you happen to want to make a certain theme cake for which you cannot find a cake topper to match, try the miniature section of any hobby or craft store.

For the examples above, you can purchase things such as a miniature fishing rod and net for the fishing cake, a miniature golf bag and golf clubs for the golf theme cake and a miniature guitar for the guitar cake. You can then place them on top of your cake. For a mail theme cake, purchase miniature mail boxes and make little letters out of card stock that you laminate and place them on the top and sides of your cake. For the carpenter theme cake, put miniature saws and other tools on the top of or on the sides of the cake.

These are just a few examples. The ideas really are endless, but hopefully this has helped to get you started thinking of different and unique cake decorating ideas that will make the next cake that you make extra special.

Cristy Smith is co-creator of a birthday cake decorating website that is packed full of creative and fantastic looking cakes and explains how each one was made. Visit http://www.easy-birthday-cakes.com for lots of great cake decorating ideas that adults and children will love.

Great Baby Showers On A Budget!

Great Baby Showers On A Budget!
    By Chris Ryerson

Are you the host of a baby shower for a friend or family member? This can be a very special honor and a huge financial burden at the same time. Well, we are here to help with great baby shower on a budget tips and advice. By following these tips you are sure to have a classy baby shower.

No matter who the person is a daughter in law, sister, friend or daughter you will want everything to come out just right! So it is important to take some time and plan the event carefully. There are numerous ways to save money and still throw a great baby shower on a budget. However, it takes more planning and careful consideration then if money is no object. By just thinking things through, planning ahead, and leaving time for yourself to enlist help you will save tons of money.

The very first step that you have to decide before moving on to anything else is the theme. A baby show theme will bring all of your ideas together and be a central focus as you are out gathering other materials for the baby shower like decorations, gifts, food, and even invitations. Without the theme you are more likely to spend willy nilly and just purchase whatever you find because it is cute. This will seriously cut in to your budget. I have often heard people who even purchase things that they never use. They went out shopping first before deciding on a theme and purchased Winnie the Pooh Invitations because they were cute. Well, it turns out that the mother to be really had her heart set on a Disney Character theme. So the host runs back out to the store and purchases Disney character invitations. This now just doubled the amount spent for invitations. Of course if money is no object and wasting is not a concern then by all means just have fun and go shopping with friends and pick up whatever strikes your fancy. However if you are on a budget for the baby shower then plant he theme first!

The second thing that you can do to significantly reduce costs is buy in bulk and assemble yourself. For example if you want a baby shower favor for all of the guests to take home you can easily buy candles or soap in bulk online and then repackage the favors on your own. Get some cute little colored cellophane bags, ribbon, and some raffia and you have all the makings for a wonderful handmade baby shower favor. You can reduce your overall costs by 50% or more buy purchasing in bulk.

You can also purchase the food in bulk to save on costs. There are a ton of discount food stores where you can buy in large quantities and a save. If you are careful and purchase foods that are frozen and things that don't go bad right away you can have the food even after the baby shower.

Baby shower games can easily be made on your home computer with some fun clip art and a simple graphics editor. By searching for games online and gathering ideas and then making the game pieces, and directions yourself you can save a great deal of money. This is also a lot of fun because you can customize the games with the date, baby shower theme, and other personalization. This will make your games stand out and be different from the boring stock games that are always played.

Saving big on baby shower invitations is easy also. Simple find some graphics that fit with your theme online using clip art and then again use your trusty home computer to make a fun baby shower invitation. By printing them yourself you can not only save money but again you can easily customize them to your own liking.

Two more super money savings ideas are to use email baby shower invitations which can save big on postage and printing costs and you can have a pot luck where everyone brings some type of finger food. This will help you minimize costs drastically and it can be a lot of fun for the guests. They will feel like they have an important role in the baby shower.

The key component to saving money on throwing a baby shower on a budget is to plan ahead and start with your theme. If you have a theme to make all of your purchases from you can be sure not to waste on anything frivolous. Also by leaving yourself enough planning and preparation time you will be sure not to get stuck last minute with no time to make things on your own. If you get stuck last minute then you are often forced to spend extra money and quick just to pull off the shower. Through proper planning and careful forethought you can easily produce a very classy baby shower on a budget that everyone will remember and cherish for along time to come.

Free 5 day Baby Shower Planning email course. Free bonuses included for signing up. You can also read more articles and advice on throwing a Baby shower on a budget here.

    American Saddlebred

    American Saddlebred
    By Michael Colucci

The American Saddlebred is a breed of horse developed in the state of Kentucky. Today they are featured in many showring competitions, and they are also used for racing, parades, and hunting. These horses have a disposition which make them good for virtually any task in which they are needed. They are well known for their stamina and the ability to learn quickly.

The Saddlebread is very alert and keen. It is flashy and steps high, and they are referred to as the "peacocks of the horse show world." The preferred Saddlebred is one that has excellent proportions and is beautiful. They have large eyes which are sharp and ears which have an excellent shape. The Saddlebred is known for having a head which is well proportioned to its body. These horses are also known for their prominent withers and muscular shoulders.

Saddlebreds are also known for being five gaited, and this is a trait which was passed down from their ancestors. This breed was first developed in the 18th century by Americans who bred the Thoroughbred with the Narragansett Pacer. The Pacer was a well known breed at the time, though many people have not heard of it today. Many people who lived on plantations enjoyed using these horses because they were comfortable and also had an excellent gait. It would go on to become a very stylish horse. These horses are very popular in the state of Kentucky.

Saddlbreds work well with harnesses and have enough strength to perform work on a farm. They are also fast enough to be used in certain types of races. By the middle of the 18th century, the genes from the Morgan horse breeds were added to give the Saddlebred more power and speed. It was this combined with the Thoroughbred that allowed the American Saddlebred to be developed. These horses begin to become very popular after 1940. A stallion named Denmark was born in 1939, and about 60% of all American Saddlebreds today are descendants of this horse.

Saddlbreds are some of the most popular breeds of horses in the world, and have been owned by presidents, generals, and other prominent people. They have also been featured in many movies. These horses are well known for competing in show horse tournaments. American Saddlebreds are one of the most well known and popular breeds in the US. The looks and personality have made them sought after by many horse enthusiasts.

    Herbs Used In Handmade Soap

    Herbs Used In Handmade Soap
    By Jeffrey Dorrian

Handmade soap is made of natural ingredients, including many herbs that make it healthy and replenishing for the skin. Aloe, for example, is one of the main herbal ingredients in handmade soap. Aloe comes from the inner part of an aloe leaf and is a wonderful healing agent. Used to treat burns, rashes, insect bites, Aloe is also used to heal wounds and help to prevent infection.

Basil, another herbal ingredient found in handmade soap, is most commonly used to treat acne. However, it also stimulates, uplifts and refreshes the skin, which is what makes Basil an ideal ingredient for handmade soap.

The majority of consumers have heard of chamomile, but few realize it's long existence. Dating back at least 2,000 years, chamomile has been used to treat cuts and scrapes, rashes, burns, etc. It is widely used as part of a soothing bath and in skin lotions.

Lavender is a very popular ingredient found in handmade soap. Many soapmakers offer a product line specifically dedicated to lavender and it's lovely, soothing scent. Much like it's smell, Lavender itself is used to relieve depression and stress. In handmade soap, Lavender is a herbal ingredient that has proven benefits to the skin, including its ability to repel mosquitoes.

Did you know that Oatmeal is used in soap? Exfoliants, such as Oatmeal, are used in a large number of skin products and their uses are very important in removing dead skin cells while rejuvenating the healthy cells underneath. In addition, exfoliants have the ability to remove other properties that gather on the skin's surface.

Rosemary is a herbal aromatic oil that is used in soaps and other scented products to give them a distinct smell. Additionally, rosemary itself is used to relieve the discomfort in bites and stings on the surface of skin.

With all of the herbs that are used to make handmade soap, the consensus seems clear that the ultimate goal is to replenish and care for the skin. Helping to remove dead skin cells, adding moisture back that has since been lost and not to mention a variety of terrific scents are just a few of the reasons that people desire handmade soap. If you are familiar with the golden rule, then you will understand why it is important to treat your skin and you would like for it to treat you. Take care of it and, in return, your skin will help you to glow.

Eczema in Babies and Young Children

Eczema in Babies and Young Children
    By Samantha Ward-Grodd

Infant eczema is a condition that effects many babies and young children in our contemporary society. Perhaps it is a response to our chemical laden foods and environments. The condition may present with a small itchy rash inside elbows and behind knees, or it can be a larger more intense rash. There are several ways that the condition can be managed without using harsh medicines or chemicals, these include diet, chemicals in the home, creams and potions.

Eczema is chronic, relapsing, and very itchy rash that occurs as an allergic response. Although eczema may look different from person to person, it is most often characterised by dry, red, extremely itchy patches on the skin. In infants, it typically occurs on the forehead, cheeks, forearms, legs, scalp, and neck. In children and adults, eczema typically occurs on the face, neck, and the insides of the elbows, knees, and ankles. Eczema usually appears during infancy. Although there is no known cause for the disease, it often affects people with a family history of allergies. In many cases infant eczema and asthma occur together or in siblings.

Eczema can be generally avoided by keeping the skin moist and at a constant temperature, reducing stress, removing irritants on the skin, avoiding harsh soaps and chemicals on the skin, avoiding environmental or food triggers. It may be useful to seek medical advice to help identify environmental or food triggers.

Some food products have been identified as being common eczema triggers for suffers. Key culprits include dairy products, eggs, soya, fish, nuts and wheat, whilst salt and food additives have also been identified. As reactions may vary, it is important to correctly identify the triggers for each individual.

Environmental triggers may also be another cause of outbreaks in young children. Some reactions may be caused by washing detergents, chemicals in fibres of clothing, pet hair, dust mites, pollens in the air, chemicals used for cleaning. There are washing detergents that do not contain added perfumes and softeners. These might be useful to reduce outbreaks. Regularly vacuuming and wet mopping can help to reduce the incidence of mites and pet hair in the child's environment. Removing shrubs and plants that are pollen laden from the immediate environment might also be useful.

One of the most important components of an eczema treatment routine is to prevent scratching. As eczema is usually dry and itchy, the most common treatment is the application of lotions or creams to keep the skin as moist as possible. Using cold pressed oils added to warm bath water instead of soaps or bath gels can help to reduce outbreaks. Alternatively, apply the oil directly after bathing so that the moisture is locked in. Many young children do not need harsh detergents or soaps to clean their skin, washing the skin with a gentle cloth may be all that is required. Products that contain synthetic fragrances or colours may also irritate sensitive skin and might need to be avoided. Most health food shops sell creams that can be used to prevent or treat outbreaks.
