Hello Internet Marketer,

I would like to welcome everyone, old and new subscribers alike, to this issue of MWCE.

The first quarter has past and most of us in the USA have filed our taxes, while the holdouts have filed last minute extensions, trying to put off the inevitable. That is life though; each must pay one's way.

I pray each of you is obtaining success in your business. Here lately information overload can easily create burnout in new internet marketers. You must never forget your purpose as you promote your product(s) or someone else's.

Part One:

First, you must have a plan. This terrifies many people right off because for some reason many believe if you take the time to write it down, it will be unchangeable, or it will surely show one's failure. To be honest, this is true and false.

You do not get in your car and just drive. You have a plan, whether it is going to the store or to Grandma's, you have a destination, the same with internet is marketing. You do not get up each morning "planning" to fail or miss the mark. Do YOU?

Example: I want to earn an income online.

This is a broad statement. You need to start by breaking it down into smaller steps. You did not start out running. This may sound childish; however, you must start with a clear statement and understanding of what you really want to do. Making money is only part of your goal.

Next, you need to begin brainstorming. What do you "like" to do? This is very important, you already have a "JOB," do you really want another one? Do you want to change one complaint for a new one?

What do you like doing? This is not necessary the latest craze that is advocated in your emails you receive each day. For example all the "free reports," ebooks, and free downloads on topics you know nothing about or previous interest.

Start with your hobbies. What do you do with your time? This covers what you live for! Your weekend survival trip's.

Some examples are camping, sports, gardening, outdoors, automobile shows, volunteering, animals, etc.

Let's take a few and break them down to help you get your brainstorming going:

Camping
Lakes, RV, fishing, swimming, etc.

Sports
Car races, golf, football, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, little league, etc.

Animals
Pets, zoo's, shelters, dogs, cats, horses, birds, etc.

Homemaking
Sewing, cooking, raising vegetables, flowers, children, etc.

You should be able to start your own list by now or expand these. Also, you go a step further by breaking each of these down even more. The picture should be becoming clearer.

It is not enough to say, "I like animals or sports, or outdoors." You need to specify what exactly you like. By doing this, your focus becomes clear and pristine.

Now, let's look at your list. Of those, which one(s) do you enjoy the most and pick no more than ten. Next, list them in order of importance.

For my example, I have chosen "horses." We have several and they take up a lot of my free time.

Horses
Care of, housing, shows, 4-H events,

• Care of: shoeing, coat, equipment, medicine, vets, supplements
• Housing: safety, trailoring, emergency equipment
• Shows: required personal clothing, dressage, trail, saddles, training

As you can see, each step will take to a more specific topic. This does not say you cannot have sites on each "hobby." By keeping your focus, you do not become lost and disorientated.

Now, you should have the beginnings of a plan!

10 Easy Steps to a Successful Postcard Marketing Campaign!

Want an inexpensive yet effective way to market your business? Then think postcards! They are less expensive to mail than letters and they almost always get read because your message is out in the open for everyone to see. If you follow these 10 steps, you'll discover how effective and lucrative marketing with postcards can be.

1. Keep Design Simple
Don't confuse your prospects. The design needs to be simple. Remember the saying "less is more?" You must make it easy for the prospect to get the message. In fact, using color on both sides is unnecessary and confusing to the recipient. Save money and print color on the main side and black and white on the address side.

2. Avoid Too Much Information
Do not give in to the temptation to cram copy onto every square inch as you try and fit a sales letter onto the postcard. This will overwhelm the prospect and dilute your message.

3. One Idea per Postcard
If your product is efficient, inexpensive and comes with a lifetime guarantee...choose one feature (and of course, the corresponding benefits) to promote on the postcard. This is a great opportunity for multiple mailings. Send a separate postcard detailing one benefit of your product or service.

4. Powerful Headline
You must pay the closest attention to the headline. The headline is what will compel the prospect to keep reading. The best type of headline has a direct benefit to the reader.

5. Promote Your Website
Don't forget to promote your website on the postcard. This is a great opportunity to drive extra traffic to your site. It also gives the prospect an easy way to get extra information.

6. Make an Irresistible Offer
Don't forget to entice the prospect with an offer. If you are giving a special discount or trial offer, make sure the offer is in the forefront, not buried in mounds of copy.

7. Strong Call to Action
Do not forget this critical step. Instruct the prospect to do whatever you feel is the appropriate next step. Just make it simple. Prospects don't want jump through hoops to get to your product or service. Do you want your prospect to call you? They tell them what to do.

8. Build a Great List
You can have the best postcard out there but if you don't have a good list, it won't convert well. Check out a service like InfoUSA.com or your local Chamber of Commerce to build a good list. And don't forget to maximize your website by including an opt-in page to create the best list of all...customers who are interested in your product or service.

9. Repeat Mailings
If you want your campaign to be effective, you must send more than one postcard! I can't tell you how many times I've heard people complain that postcards don't work because their one-time mailing failed to convert. Once-a-month mailings can be quite effective. But if your budget is tight, the minimum you should send is 3.

10. Follow-Up with Phone Calls
If you really want to add extra mileage to your campaign, follow-up with phone calls. After you send the postcards, the "cold call" isn't so cold and you'll be on your way to finding new customers.

Remember...making sales is a numbers game. The more prospects you contact the more sales you will make. It's that simple.

List Building - How to Think of a Newsletter Theme

List building of course is the process of creating a list of like minded individuals who have a similar interest to each other, and presumably related to the theme of your website.

One of the hardest things to think of sometimes is a theme for your newsletter.

The real key here is that you cannot build a list just for the purpose of building a list.

You have to have a genuine purpose for a list. For example, perhaps your purpose for your list is that you want to eventually sell your product, and for this article, let's assume that your product is a motivational ebook.

But all you have is one product, so like you said, you cannot just send out promotions for ebooks all the time. But I am assuming that if you are building this list, it is so that you can offer ebooks to these potential customers in the future.

So this is where the newsletter comes in. You use the newsletter to build a relationship with your readers, and maybe once or twice a month you send out a recommendation for one of your ebooks.

So you need to think of a newsletter topic that would appeal to people who might want to buy a motivational ebook. We know two things about these people: they are interested in motivation and they are online (or at least have computers). Well, as long as you target them online, you know they have access to a computer, and presumably own one. So that is covered.

What about the next one? People who are interested in motivational things. These might be people who simply state need to be motivated. Or they have responded to an ad you create the offers a free motivational product. Or they could be self-employed online people --- they always need motivation!

So you could build a list of people who like motivational things. And the easiest way to do this would be to set up a squeeze page offering a free motivational ebook, and anyone who downloads it subscribes to your list. Your newsletter could have weekly or daily motivational sayings or statements --- possibly contributed by your readers to create list interaction.

What to Do When Your Teenagers Have Friends You Don't Approve of

Life with a teenager can be very interesting. One day, you understand each other perfectly and the next, it is like you are living on two different planets. One subject that parents and teenagers have trouble agreeing on is their friends.

Parents have to tread lightly when it comes to likes and dislikes concerning your teens. Most teens go through various phases between the ages of twelve and eighteen. Hanging around with friends that you don't approve of could be one of those phases.

Determine why you don't approve of their friends. If the reason for disapproval surrounds their appearance or mannerisms, you may have to put up with it. If your teenager is having a hard time figuring out who they are, the chances are that someone else's teenager is having the same trouble. Asking your son or daughter to drop a friend because of their looks sends the wrong message.

If one of their friends is disrespectful in your house, handle this situation directly with the offending teenager. This is your house and you lay the ground rules. Kindly tell the friend that he must change his tone and word usage in your home. If he agrees, then the problem is handled.

Teens often do things that they have been taught. Propping feet up on the coffee table or drinking from the juice carton may be okay at their home. Talk to your teenager's friends with respect and tell them that you don't allow certain things to be done in your home. The reason they didn't do it before was because he or she just didn't know.

If you suspect that one of your teenagers new friends is into drugs or something else that is not above board, action may be warranted. Keeping an open line of communication with your teenager should alert you to any changes in their behavior that may have prompted their new relationship with this friend. Ask your teenager if their new friend is into any risky behaviors.

Before your child can object to the question, reiterate that you are concerned about them. You can suggest that they may want to distance themselves if this new friend is doing something that could get them in trouble. If your teenager insists that nothing is going on, trust them. You have raised them to be aware of drugs, alcohol, smoking, and sex. They have all of the tools that they need. The rest is up to them.

Teenagers will have all types of friends. It is okay to be concerned if a friend doesn't click with you. Take the time to understand the reasons why you don't approve of the friend before jumping to conclusions.

Option Strategies - Some Common Option Trading Strategies for the Beginner

Options prices are dependent upon the prices of their underlying instruments and can be used in various combinations for virtually unlimited market moves. When an investor contemplates any option strategy, he or she should always be mindful of the risks, since trading options is a bit more risky than simple stocks.

The most basic options strategy is referred to as the covered call. A covered call simply involves selling (writing) a call for a stock you already own. If the call is never exercised, then you simply retain the premium and also the stock, then you can sell another call. If the call is ever exercised, then you would receive the exercise price of the stock, which is the strike price of the call, as well the premium you received when you sold the call.

Another options strategy is known as the protective put. With this particular strategy, you would purchase protective puts for stocks already owned in order to minimize any losses. If the price of the stock increases, then the put would expire worthless, but you still benefit from the increased stock price. On the other hand, if the price of the stock decreases, then the value of the put increases by one dollar for each dollar drop in the stock price below the strike price. So in this way, you are protected dollar for dollar. The put then pays off with the value of the stock and the put, minus the premium for the put.

A collar is an options strategy that combines the use of a covered call and a protective put in order to contain your risk and your reward between two bounds. This particular strategy helps to eliminate your potential losses. The put is purchased in order to protect the lower bound, and the call is purchased and can be sold at strike price for the upper bound. The call helps to pay for the protective put.

Still another options strategy is the straddle. A straddle is created when both a put and a call are purchased on the same security at the same strike price and for the same expiration. There are long straddles and short straddles. Long straddles are purchased if the stock price is expected to significantly increase or decrease. Short straddles are purchased if the stock price is not expected to move very much.

There are many more option trading strategies. These are only a few of the most common ones.

As for overall growth, although it's common to see bamboo plants 100 feet tall, the largest bamboo plant ever recorded grew to a height of 180 feet. It measured more than a foot in diameter and its walls were at least an inch thick. Such growth easily qualifies bamboo as the largest member of the grass family.

Strength

Another legendary trait is bamboo's strength. It has a tensile strength superior to mild steel, able to withstand pressure of 52,000 pounds per square inch, which is superior to graphite. That means that on top of being the fastest growing woody plant and the tallest grassy plant, bamboo is also the strongest woody plant, as well...twice as stable as oak or walnut when used in ladders or scaffolding.

Versatile

Bamboo is truly an amazing plant, but its uses as a resource have yet to be fully tapped. It can be selectively harvested every year with no impact on the environment and no need to replant, thereby saving thousands of man hours and fuel costs. It's an incredibly versatile building material, as well, providing income, food, and housing to 2.2 billion people around the globe...but we've only scratched the surface of bamboo's true potential.

What is Infant Acid Reflux?

As many as half of all infants may experience acid reflux from time to time. Ironically, majority of these infants are otherwise healthy and does not require any special medical intervention. When the acids and other contents in an infant's stomach go back up into th esophagus, infant acid reflux occurs.

The esophagus is a muscular tube connecting the throat to the stomach. It usually contracts contracts in order to push food down the throat and into the stomach. The esophageal sphincter, which is a rim of muscle located at the bottom of the esophagus and at the top of the stomach, opens up to allow food from the esophagus into the baby's stomach. Once the food is in the stomach, the esophageal sphincter then closes tightly in order to prevent the food from flowing back up into the esophagus.

A baby with infant acid reflux has an esophageal sphincter that is not properly working. The stomach acid and other contents flow back to the esophagus, causing the infant discomfort. Babies with infant acid reflux can exhibit symptoms such as spitting, vomiting, coughing or occasional fussiness and crying right after their meals. Babies affected with infant acid reflux may also be reluctant to eat once they become accustomed to experiencing the unpleasant and uncomfortable burning sensation in their chest and throat.

Although infant acid reflux is usually mild and short-lived, sometimes a baby may experience infant acid reflux symptoms that are severe and consistent. The frequent crying or fussiness during meal times develops into a refusal to eat once a baby associates food with the discomfort of infant acid reflux. These babies end up losing weight since they are not able to keep food in the stomach long enough to nourish them.

Respiratory problems may develop in babies with infant acid reflux when the lungs inadvertently suck in the food that's already in the esophagus. These babies wheeze and gasp for breath. In addition, infant acid reflux may cause enough damage to the baby's esophagus and make it bleed. As a result, babies with infant acid relux may end up with anemia

Typically, infant acid reflux issues disappear on their own or following changes in how you position your baby while he or she drinks and eats. Your physician may recommend that you frequently give your baby small meal portions instead of fewer large meals. The doctor may also suggest thickening baby formula. He or she may also advise you to hold your baby upright during feedings. It also helps if you burp your baby while he or she is eating and also afterwards.

If your baby is experiencing serious infant acid reflux symptoms, see a doctor right away. The doctor will do tests to confirm if your baby does have infant acid reflux or some other illness. If infant acid reflux is the culprit and other measures have resulted in not much success, the doctor will prescribe drugs or recommend surgery in order to tighten the esophageal sphincter. In most cases, however, infant acid reflux is not a serous concern. Babies typically outgrow infant acid reflux on their own with no adverse effects.

JV Advertising Space --- Remnant advertising is big business these days for those who how to exploit it. What is remnant advertising, aka "stand-by advertising?" A reprint from my newsletter will explain:

If you already have an effective direct mail campaign, why not tweak the same winning letter and turn it into a space ad? You already have a winning piece. You can save on costs by merely reformatting it a little to create a whole new ad. Of course, depending on your sales letter, this may or may not work. Some letters are specifically targeted for a particular niche market (as they should be). In that case, you may need to change the headline or tweak the lead, but it can usually be done for a lot less than writing a new ad from scratch. And you also gain the added advantage of speed. You can get your space ad written in this fashion a lot faster than writing from scratch. Of course, that's assuming you have the budget to take out half-page or full-page ads. What if your budget only allows for a smaller space ad?

One of the most challenging things about small space ads is trying to fit in enough copy to get the job done. "The more you tell, the more you sell" is especially true when the goal of the ad is to provoke an action from the prospect, especially an action that involves more than just picking up the phone or dropping a reply card in the mail.

So what's the most effective type of space you can use in a newspaper?

A larger one. One that gives you plenty of room to include your long and persuasive copy. If a prospect doesn't know enough about your product or service, and isn't convinced enough to act immediately, you've lost an opportunity. Repeat this to a circulation of tens or hundreds of thousands, and your ad is like flushing perfectly good money right down the toilet.

Now, there's a woman, Nancy Jones, who near single-handedly invented stand-by advertising. What is stand-by advertising? I've gotten her consent to share a letter she wrote to newspapers some twenty-odd years ago that will explain the concept:

Dear Advertising Director,


Over the past several years, our client, the XYZ Company, has repeatedly expressed an interest in having his advertisements published in your newspaper.

However, our agency has compared your open rate with that of newspapers where the advertisement has already been published and we have found it necessary to advise the client against including your newspaper in his advertising schedules. This decision was based mainly on the fact the client's advertisement has been profitable only in those newspapers where a stand-by or remnant rate has been offered.

As you know, stand-by simply means a newspaper agrees to publish an advertisement whenever or wherever space becomes available and offers to reduce the open line rate to the advertiser for "standing by." Space may become available due to last minute cancellations of scheduled advertisements or because of production difficulties. Whatever the reason, the newspaper will generally insert a house ad or a public service ad to fill the hole in the newspaper. Therefore, more often than not, the newspaper receives no revenue for the use of this space.

Thus, stand-by advertising has become advantageous for both the newspaper and the advertiser. The newspaper has the opportunity to make money on space it might otherwise have to give away. The advertiser is able to use a publication it could not use at the open rate.

More and more newspapers are becoming involved in stand-by advertising. Enclosed is a current list of newspapers offering a stand-by program and the discounts they allow. We are aware your newspaper has not offered a stand-by rate in the past but we would like very much for you to consider this possibility now. We are enclosing an insertion order for a full page, a mechanical and a check for the new amount of the order. The net amount has been computed at the open rate discounted by 50% for stand-by, normal for the industry, and 15% for the standard agency discount.

If you accept our offer, simply hold the material until space becomes available. If and when the opportunity presents itself, run the ad, cash the check and send us a tear sheet. If you do not wish to participate at this time, simply return the check to the agency and destroy the mechanical.

This offer expires in 15 days. Please feel free to call if you have any questions about the offer or our client.

Philly Steak Casserole

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 lbs beef round tip steak
2 tbsp olive oil - divided
2 cloves garlic, minced-divided
1 cup sliced onion
1 cup sliced bell pepper
4 (1 oz.) slices provolone cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 425F.
   
2. Partially freeze the steak to make slicing easier. Slice as thinly as possible.
   
3. In a skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive over medium high heat. Add garlic, onions, and peppers. Salt and pepper to taste. Saute onions until translucent. Remove from skillet and set aside.
   
4. In skillet heat the other tbsp of olive oil. Add remaining garlic, then add the sliced beef. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook until no longer pink. (Don't over cook)
   
5. Spray 2 qt baking dish with cooking spray. Spoon beef into dish. Then add vegetables. Top with sliced provolone.
   
6. Bake at 425F until cheese just starts to turn golden.
   
7. Serve with mayonnaise and or lettuce if desired. (not included in nutrition counts stated)

1 g fiber
49 g protein

The way your kids chat on the internet is very much like the Navajo code talkers. They even have their very own language, called 133t speak.

What does this mean for you as a parent? Well, it's a scary thought but your child could actually be chatting with internet predators right under your nose. Even if you're watching every single word that your child types, there's a good chance that you won't understand the true meaning of what your child is saying.

Sound far fetched?

See if you can translate the following instant message conversation:

Yowser44: I want you NIFOC
Bluebaby15: Can't, CODE 9
Yowser44: Later than?
Bluebaby15: I'll GNOC later.

Do you know what just happened there?

Yowser44 just asked to see blue baby 19 "Naked In Front Of Computer".

Bluebaby replied that she couldn't because "CODE 9" (parents are around)

But bluebaby replies that she will "GNOC" later. What does that mean? It means she just promised to "Get Naked On Computer" later.

In essence, Bluebaby19 just agreed to pose nude on her webcam for Yowser44.

Now, if Bluebaby was your child... there's a very good chance you'd never know this was going on. Even if you did everything right... even if you kept the computer in a public place. Even if you stood over her shoulders as she typed... you'd still have no idea what was going on.

And it's not your fault. Most parents can't be expected to learn a second language. Teens change their acronyms almost daily.

Here are 3 things you can do to "break the code".

1. Keep the lines of communication open. Make it clear to your child that anyone asking for their picture or video is NOT their friend and is going to try and hurt them.
   
   
2. Always be 100% aware of what your kids are doing online. Know what they're chatting about, know what they're emailing about and know what web sites they're visiting.
   
   
3. Consider signing up with a monitoring service that not only shows what your kids are doing online but also translates "teen chat" so you're not locked out.
   
   

Follow these three steps and you're one step closer to becoming a fully aware parent.

When the phone started to ring and my email started to fill, I knew something must have happened again in the world of dog and cat food. As of this writing more foods have been recalled and a few more ingredients besides wheat gluten have been added to the list of "not to safe."

Evidence suggesting that a shipment of the ingredient "Rice Protein Concentrate" contained melamine has come to light. As reported by OregonLlive.com posted by The Associated Press and The Oregonian "Ingredients imported from China that went into recalled pet food may have been intentionally spiked with an industrial chemical to boost their protein content, federal officials said today.

That's one theory being pursued by the Food and Drug Administration as it investigates how the chemical, melamine, contaminated at least two ingredients used to make more than 100 brands of dog and cat foods. Melamine has been found by U.S. laboratories in both wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate imported from China."

Melamine, an ingredient in plastics and fertilizers could lead to kidney failure in animals.

Stephen Sundlof, chief veterinarian for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said melamine, which has turned up in more than 100 brands of cat and dog food, might have been used to falsely boost the apparent nutritional content of rice protein. Melamine can skew test results to make a product appear more protein-rich than it really is, Sundlof said.

You think when you are buying food that all pet food manufacturers have your pet's best interests in mind ...........right? --- After all, who doesn't love your pets more? Current pet food regulations allow manufacturers to use ingredients that you would never knowingly give to your pet. For example: by-products used (feet, bones and intestines, etc.), or as some of you heard the 4 D's, dead, diseased, dying, and disabled. Chemical preservatives (BHA and BHT) should not be in your pet's food. Look for grains that are often difficult to digest (corn, wheat, gluten and soy), which are often used as a protein source instead of meat, should be avoided.

If you switch to premium dog food, switch your pet's diet to premium treats, bones and supplements. Often times we over look what else we are giving them. Treats can contain the harmful and not so healthy ingredients as listed above.

Marinating and Cooking Your Steak For Tenderness and Flavor

You can increase the tenderness and juiciness of your steak or other meat by marinating it. Place the steak in a ziplock bag, pour in enough marinade to just cover it, and refrigerate overnight. Marinating a steak like this will add flavor and tenderness.

If you store steak or other meats in the freezer before cooking, try pouring the marinade over the steak before freezing. The steak will marinate when thawing and be tender and ready to cook.

Try a marinade made of ½ cup each good wine and olive oil mixed with 2 Tablespoons of lemon juice or a herb vinegar. Add any aromatic seasonings that you like such as garlic, freshly ground pepper, onion, or herbs. The acid from the juice or vinegar will tenderize the meat. The oil and wine add flavor and preserve juiciness.

Here is an example to get you started.

Red Wine and Tarragon Vinegar Marinade

1/2 cup dry red wine

1/2 cup olive oil

2 tablespoons tarragon vinegar

1 bay leaf

1 onion, minced

1 carrot, sliced fine

1 whole clove

1 clove garlic, crushed or minced

20 peppercorns, crushed

4 sprigs parsley

Mix all together and pour over meat. Marinate for up to 24 hours.

Meat Tenderizers

There are meat tenderizers available to sprinkle onto your steak, and they certainly do tenderize the meat; however, meat tenderizers can sometimes over tenderize the meat, changing the texture of the meat into mush. If you should choose to go this route, do it carefully.

Cooking Your Steak

When ready to cook, slash through the outside fat layer on the steak in a few places to prevent curling, but do not cut into the meat. The more tender steak cuts can be broiled, grilled, or pan fried. Less tender cuts should be pan fried or slow braised. Steak should never be cooked in liquid. When pan broiling, use a very heavy skillet such as an iron skillet or griddle and heat the pan before adding the meat. The heavy metal will hold the heat for proper heat distribution and not cool down when the steak is added. A hot pan will quickly sear the outside, trapping the moisture inside.

When cooking, try to turn the steak only once. Cook the meat until browned on one side and half done, then turn and finish the other side. Turning too often will stew the meat rather than searing it and produce a less juicy steak. When the steak is done, remove from the pan and allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Obesity- Childhood Weight Problems Increasing

With the growing trend in obesity, childhood is now often the time when weight problems start. In fact, amongst children and teenagers obesity has already reached epidemic proportions in many parts of the developed world. This is an area of growing concern amongst health care professionals, as obese children and teenagers are more likely to become obese adults than are their thinner friends.

In addition, obese children are also have a shorter life expectation than would otherwise be the case, with the result that many of today's youngsters will die before their parents. And what parent wishes to outlive his or her children?

The illnesses associated with obesity include diabetes, heart disease, some cancers, infertility and depression. Children who are obese could find themselves suffering from these conditions as young adults unless steps are taken to help them lose weight.

There are many reasons for childhood obesity and these need to be dealt with sensitively. Young people are just finding their identity and harsh criticism can undermine attempts to get them to lose weight. However, they should be encouraged to take as much responsibility for their eating habits as possible.

Enabling children to understand the consequences of unhealthy eating as early in life is important, as this can help avoid overweight, but what if they are already addicted to junk food? Families need to work together on this and parents should set a good example by what they eat themselves and should get their kids involved in shopping and cooking. It is also crucial to remember that children are still growing and so must not be deprived of essential nutrients. Therefore very restrictive diets should be avoided, except in extremely severe cases of obesity, and then only under medical supervision.

Parents should also make a point of listening to their children and taking time to discover the underlying reasons for their offsprings' overeating. Kids, like adults, eat for psychological reasons and it's important to be aware of any causes of unhappiness, such as bullying or too much pressure to do well at school.

It is important to address the problem as early as possible, as it becomes more difficult to deal with the more overweight the child becomes. In the early stages, it may be possible to get things back on track with a few changes in diet and a bit more exercise, both of which can be undertaken by the whole family. However, if overweight has become a serious problem, it is essential to enlist professional help. Obesity, childhood or otherwise, is a major health risk and combating it involves adopting a healthy way of life for ever, not just until an acceptable weight has been reached.
